THE AMERICAN "BALD EAGLE," [IN CHRISTIAN RELIGION]
One of the Greatest Prophets that we see in the Bible is Isaiah. He is known for MANY things, not the least of which was the prediction of Jesus Christ, the details God made, Man HAD to endure.
ISAIAH;
Isaiah 40:28-31
28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

A HISTORY LESSON - TRUE IN THE PAST, TRUE NOW!

There has always been mystery, or "lack of real understanding" when it comes to the comparison of a simple bird, The Eagle, and CHRISTIANITY. COMMON SENSE shows US the OBVIOUS comparisons.
The Bald Eagle's nest is QUITE large, sometimes as deep as 5-6 feet, wide as 8-9 feet, Some, if not MOST nests are larger! {approximations in size.}
The nest is found where UP-DRAFTS of air are present, such as rocky cliffs, tall tree branches near a long drop to the gound. I live in San Diego CA, USA, where some of the best "hang gliding" is along the cliffs that adjoin the Pacific Ocean. Why? - Because the person runs AT the edge of the cliff, and with the broad wings,(sails,) of his glider,catches the ever present UP-DRAFT of air from those cliffs. Here is where the similarity of The Eagle and The Hang Glider person ends; {except for the 1,000' plus distance to the ground.}
The Eagles, mate for life, raise their eaglets from eggs. The Eaglet is fed by the Mom, (naturally,) through egurgitation, allowing the small eaglets to grow rapidly. The Bald Eagle is a BIG BIRD! When fully grown the Bald Eagle has a wing span and strength to match its size. It does not "flap"its wings, it SOARS. Spotting a running Rabbit at 2 miles is NOTHING for a grown Eagle! This is no doubt why Isaiah uses the Eagle as an example in verse 40 on. BUT, I digress....
The comparison of The Eagle to Christianity is also common sense. When it is TIME for the Eaglets to learn to fly, or soar, the nest is litterally "stirred up" by Mom and Dad. In the process, AND THE SMALL EAGLETS ARE THROWN OUT TOWARDS THE GROUND! Here is where the Eaglet makes it or in some cases, does not. The Mother and Father Eagles watch the Eaglet drop toward the ground. At the LAST moment, if the Eaglet appears it is not going to spread its wings and fly, the Adult Eagle catches the young bird on its wings and returns the eaglet to the nest. This is done over and over until the Eaglet learns to fly, or not, the ground becoming its demise.
God sent his ONLY SON as a sacrifice for our sin {before, during and after,} to die on the rough hewn cross. There was NO SECOND CHANCE for Jesus. The COMPARISON BETWEEN THE EAGLE AND GOD'S PLAN FOR US IS; God saves us from death in The lake of fire, Hades, eternal damnation, by giving us the opportunity to CONFESS OUR SIN thereby, like the Adult Eagle, SAVING US FROM A HORRIBLE DEATH by catching us on it's wings of forgiveness.

WHAT IS A RAPTOR? - , A BIRD OF PREY, HOOKED BEAK, SHARP TALONS STRONG legs and thighs;
There are MANY types of Raptor, some hunt at night, some at day, as The Bald Eagle and The Golden Eagle.
NOT A JURASSIC PARK BIRD, the Eagle, (Raptor,) maintains itself, (with a little help from its friends!)
Haast's Eagles were the largest known true raptors, slightly larger even than the largest living vultures. Female eagles are significantly larger than males. Females of the Haast species are believed to have weighed 22–33lbs. and males 20–26 lbs. They had a relatively short wingspan, measuring roughly 8 ft 6 in–9 ft 10 in. The wingspan now reported in large specimens of GOLDEN EAGLES. Even the largest extant eagles, however, are about forty percent smaller in body size than the size of Haast's Eagles.
Short wings may have aided Haast's Eagles when hunting in the dense scrubland forests of New Zealand. Haast's Eagle sometimes is portrayed incorrectly as having evolved toward flightlessness, but this is not so; rather it represents a departure from the mode of its ancestors' soaring flight toward higher wing loading.
Two of the largest extant eagles, the Harpy Eagle and the Philippine Eagle, also have similarly reduced relative wing-length in adaptation to forest-dwelling.
The strong legs and massive flight muscles of these eagles would have enabled the birds to take off with a jumping start from the ground, despite their great weight. The tail was almost certainly long, up to 20 inches in female specimens, and very broad. This characteristic would compensate for the reduction in wing area by providing additional lift. Total length is estimated to have been up 4 ft 7 inches in females, with a standing height of approximately 2 ft 11 in tall or perhaps slightly greater.
Haast's Eagles preyed on large, flightless bird species, including the moa which was up to fifteen times the weight of the eagle. It is estimated to have attacked at speeds up to 50 mph, often seizing its prey's pelvis with the talon of one foot and killing with a blow to the head or neck with the other. Its size and weight indicate a bodily striking force equivalent to a cinder block falling from the top of an eight-story building. Its large beak also could be used to rip into the internal organs of its prey and death then would have been caused by blood loss. In the absence of other large predators or scavengers, a Haast's Eagle easily could have monopolised a single large kill over a number of days.

BUT - There is NOTHING more lean and mean THAN THAN THE EAGLE!

The Golden Eagle, fairly common in states like California and Colorado, has a wingspan of 7 1/2 feet on the average. The BALD EAGLE, Americas Symbolic Bird, Is smallerwith an average wingspan of 6 to 7 feet. Talons of the BALD EAGLE are Razor Sharp! Both Eagles SOAR, looking with eyes that can see clearly for over 2 miles , soaring at high altitude.
