He thinks; "it's good to be home!" REGAL , IMPOSING, A SYMBOL OF STRENGTH, yet our Eagle, NO MATTER HOW STRONG, MUST HAVE;
SOME ONE TO LEAN ON!

On one of the several visits to Colorado, I watched, at the Church my Son attends, my Grand Daughter performing on stage; "Someone to lean on." I had no idea this article would be written then, I HAVE NEVER FORGOTTON THAT PERFORMANCE. She was only 7 or 8 years old.

I get Devotions from many quarters; today caused this writing as the Devotions I did
get were SO SIMILAR!!- I may be a "dumb Marine," I DO think the devotions I have
chosen say virtually the SAME THING!
Example one;
So, why try to face life's problems alone, for that
can be a losing battle. After all you have the awesome power of
GOD waiting to lead you! So why not: COMMIT TO THE LORD
WHATEVER YOU DO, AND YOUR PLANS WILL SUCCEED.
( PROVERBS 16:3) Then the next time that you ask "What
Would Jesus Do," you may just pick up your Bible and read all
about it in the Gospel's.

Example one got me thinking..........
You do NOT need to be a hero, like my good friend Clinton A. Puckett, Navy Cross recipient, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, Etc. I recall him saying to me in Korea, the early 1950's I WILL be Sergeant Major of The Marine Corps. He,at the time, was a Gunnery Sergeant!
Yep, "Clint" had something in his head. Ended up 6th Sergeant Major of the Corps. His signed picture hangs right by my computer station. Quiet man, self taught in English AND Spanish, That right SELF TAUGHT. Typical Marine.........

What immediately comes to mind is DAVID AND GOLIATH! A kid dropping a GIANT with a selection of five smooth stones and a leather sling!

I sit here writing after walking without assistance only 25 feet. I forgot I am 6'4" tall,
quite obvious when you have been sitting in a wheel chair and suddenly. without really thinking, get up and walk around.

This time,(instead of the gentle Breeze as I sat in our kitchen,) The Holy Spirit chose my recliner, as I watched the National News on T.V. - I wondered what I had done as my visits from the Holy Spirit seem to have stopped!!
AS USUAL, I was wrong! ALL WE NEED DO IS ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR A "LITTLE HELP! He had NOT forgotten me, just the opposite, I had not sought his help! It came PRIMARILY from my Surgery on my knees, I think I was feeling sorry for myself, the progress I have nade, it came from the most prolific writer in the New testament,
PAUL!
Try reading 1 Corinthians, 9:24! Really hit home for me!
I had FORGOTTEN to ASK the Holy Spirit for HELP - YOU, yes YOU, need to pick up your Bible, OR refer to "Our Daly Bread" Christian pamphlet, and read about the guy who refused to run a race UNLESS he WON! Jesus Entrance to Jerusalem, well aware his warm “palm frond greeting,” { John 12:13,} would soon end as he faced crucification, nailed to a wooden cross at golgatha….
During the three short years of Jesus' earthly ministry, He performed many miracles and preached to crowds large and small. But the moment of greatest acceptance came the week before Jesus was crucified as He entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey. A large number had gathered from all over Israel in preparation of the Passover: "They took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting 'Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel!'" (John 12:13).
Many would view this as the high point of Jesus' ministry. He had gained a great following and the people even hailed Him as the new King of Israel. But Jesus knew this was not His Father's will. Jesus came for a much greater purpose than to be a temporary king; He came for an eternal glory which required His death.
John 12:24
"I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds."
Jesus spoke these words in reference to His sacrifice on the cross which would occur in a few short days, but His message of death was also intended for us today. Obviously He's not saying we should all be physically crucified, but Jesus IS saying we must experience a death; "whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will find it" (Matthew 16:25). Paul explains this even more directly; "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature" (Colossians 3:5).
Our earthly nature is home to all our sinful desires, but it's also the source of all the ambitions and dreams not formed by God. When we tightly hold to our dreams and are driven (or drive others) by our own ambitions, we choke what God desires to accomplish and never see the full potential of Christ - never see the abundant life God desires us to live.
We have a tendency to dream and make plans, and then spend our time and energy pursuing the dream rather than truly pursuing Christ. Our dream may even appear very Godly - we may strive for a dynamic ministry or children who love and follow God - but until we allow EVERYTHING within us to die and be replaced by the love of God, we will never experience His very best or witness His most beautiful fruit; "and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me" (Galatians 2:20).
Let's allow the plans of Christ to reign absolutely supreme. We were created for so much more than we can imagine! Let's cast off all sin and leave ALL we hold dear at His feet. He will raise up what He desires to use for the glory of His name, but first we must resolve to let it die.

TEMPTATION????
As said in {1 Peter 5:8 }, satan has been tempting us, {or at least trying to do so,}
since God created all in Genesis, The First chapter of our bible! God KNEW
it was necessary to introduce satan to man to fulfill episodes such as David
and Bathsheba.
God began as BELOW,
As we were taught in kindergarten Bible school,

BEAST OF THE FIELD WHICH THE LORD HAD MADE.
AND HE SAID TO THE WOMAN, "HAS GOD INDEED

GARDEN?

The serpent (satan) has been tempting mankind since
the beginning of this earth age. Just as he tempted
Adam and Eve, he tempts us as well! Therefore you
must; BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT; BECAUSE YOUR
ADVERSARY THE DEVIL WALKS ABOUT LIKE A
ROARING LION, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR.
( 1 PETER 5:8 )
Now as Childern of God we have added protection for
It is written; NO TEMPTATION HAS OVERTAKEN
YOU EXCEPT SUCH AS IS COMMON TO MAN; BUT
GOD IS FAITHFUL, WHO WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO
BE TEMPTED BEYOND WHAT YOU ARE ABLE, BUT
WITH THE TEMPTATION WILL ALSO MAKE A WAY
OF ESCAPE, THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO BEAR IT.
( 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13 )
THEREFORE SUBMIT TO GOD, RESIST THE
DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU. For when you;
DRAW NEAR TO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO
YOU. ( JAMES 4:7-8 )
The next time satan tries to tempt you
tell him to take a hike! For Jesus Christ gave you that
power when He said; "BEHOLD, I GIVE YOU THE
AUTHORITY TO TRAMPLE ON SERPENTS AND
SCORPIONS, AND OVER ALL THE POWER OF THE
ENEMY, AND NOTHING SHALL BY ANY MEANS
HURT YOU." ( LUKE 10:19-20 )

Who's the "Man," who is the POWER, does God fit that description?
Remember, God The Father threw lucifer,{ known by MANY names,} AND about 10,000
rebellious angels from Heaven down to "the lake of fire" and in the
specific case of satan, to do as said by God in Genesis and in the
New Testament, {1 Peter 5:8}
