Your Half Full Glass: President; Franklin Delano Roosevelt-1933 - MY Birth year....
These are some of the words of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's, his first
inaugural address. He gave the speech on March 4, 1933. It is the one
with the famous line that goes "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
I was born on 01-25-1933, too young to remember much of anything.
As part of The Presidents, {FDR,} allusion, he said;
THE GLASS ABOVE IS EITHER HALF FULL OR,...HALF EMPTY!
frankly and boldly. No need to shrink from honestly facing
conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure as
it has endured, will revive and will prosper.
So, first of all, let
me assert a firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is
fear itself -- nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which
paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every
dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor
has met with that understanding and support of the people
themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you
will again give that support to leadership in these critical times!!
SEMPER FIDELIS - HONOR!
It is time to push back the darkness of despair with the light of hope.
You and I have been living a "culture of fear" -- in Christian Education, politics,
business, finance, general education, you name it.
We have FORGOTTEN the obvious and emphasized the negative. So fear has been allowed to cloud our decisions, and poison our thoughts.
As Jesus pointed out, those deserving of punishment HE will judge from Heaven.
WE? - WE must FORGIVE while on this earth!
OVERWHELMED??
Bad times don't last. Only God lasts. And that's
true of the economic chaos of today and years past.
It is time for our own
"nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror" which paralyzes needed efforts, to convert retreat into advancement.
Ask ANY MARINE, it CAN be done!
It is time for you to be bold in planning for the future. It is time to push back
the darkness of
despair with the light of Jesus Christ!!
{ Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life!}

Half full or half empty - ??
During these VERY trying times, go to CHURCH, NOT JUST TO HEAR A SERMON, but to share with your friends and neighbors, POSSIBLY one of several things might happen:
1. Your friends may KNOW OF A NEW JOB FOR YOU!
2.
Strength is found, AND ALWAYS WILL BE, in sharing with people of the same convictions as you!
3.A USA Army Major, Fort Hood, KILLED his own people! -AFTER this artile was written....GO TO CHURCH, what comes
next is known ONLY to GOD!! - TRULY, could you have predicted
what happened at Fort Hood?? - As a trained warrior, I could NOT!
GO TO CHURCH, only GOD knows what is coming next!
It is the JOB of a Man of God to ENCOURAGE not DIS-courage even with properly quoted SCRIPTURE. You cannot go it alone, not even with family members giving you encouragement! - THE HOLY BIBLE and fervent Prayer is the ONLY encouragement you need;
YET,
Just like you would not attempt climbing mount Everest without guides, familiar with the conditions, you need a "PAGE LIKE THIS!!"- A GUIDE; someone ELSE to lessen the burdens of what this Economy throws your way!

"IN EVERYTHING, DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULD
HAVE THEM DO TO YOU, FOR THIS SUMS UP THE LAW
AND THE PROPHETS."

As God's Children we are to obey this rule, for written in
the law is "DO NOT SEEK REVENGE OR BEAR A
GRUDGE AGAINST ONE OF YOUR PEOPLE, BUT
LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." ( LEVITICUS 19:18 )
Jesus Christ said, "A NEW COMMAND I GIVE
YOU: LOVE ONE ANOTHER. AS I HAVE LOVED
YOU, SO YOU MUST LOVE ONE ANOTHER. BY
THIS ALL MEN WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE MY
DISCIPLES, IF YOU LOVE ONE ANOTHER."
( JOHN 13:34-35 )
This "Golden Rule" that Jesus taught us is the
foundation of goodness and mercy, the kind of love
that God shows to us each day!
So reader; "BEAR WITH EACH OTHER AND
FORGIVE WHATEVER GRIEVANCES YOU MAY
HAVE AGAINST ONE ANOTHER. FORGIVE AS
JESUS, THE LORD FORGAVE YOU."
Colossians 3:13
That USA Army Major?? - FORGIVE HIM, Hard to do, impossible it seems; to the CHRISTIAN believer, IT MUST BE DONE..........do it, DO IT NOW! - His sin, no matter how horrendous, JESUS COMMANDS us to forgive!
THERE IS THAT WORD AGAIN, FORGIVE AS I HAVE FORGIVEN YOU! JESUS:
But as we encourage, we must do so from a position of Biblical truth. We must continually direct each other toward Christ and the life He calls us to live. It is never true encouragement to simply lend our agreement and "comfort" to a complaining or selfish attitude. This actually keeps someone down and threatens to pull us down in the process.
We must persevere...because He, first persevered, for us!
{ 1 John 5:14-15 }
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of him.
Confidence before God. Through the presence of Jesus at the Father's right hand and the intercession of the Holy Spirit, we can have confidence and come boldly before the Creator of the universe and know that he not only hears us, but also cares for us. He also ACTS on what we ask.
1 Corinthians 15:20-22
Christ has indeed been raised, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
Being eternal is nothing new. Being like Jesus, completely, immortally will be new. But when the moment of glory hung in the balance as Jesus was revived from his death sleep, we too were given the assurance that death no longer claims us. The only death that really matters is our death to sin with Jesus in baptism. If we have shared in that death, we will most certainly share in his resurrection
(see Romans 6:1-14).
Who would have believed me if I had said Gold would be worth over $1,200 per ounce when it was REGULATED in the '30's at $33.00 per ounce, during the close of The Great Depression??
Well, today, in the year 2010 we are seeing "Gold Parties" where old pieces of that metal are being sold for big bucks! JUST SHOWS HOW THINGS CHANGE, MOMENT TO MOMENT! what does not change; (Note the verse from John!,) - JESUS!
"But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things, and what he teaches is true - it is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you, and continue to live in Christ.
1 John 2:27
